"Supported but Stranded?" – The Irony of Stewarn's Fare Appeal Despite Dayo Kims Pledge

Stewarn Cherulo
, a fast-rising Meru musician and dancer, has landed a huge break—he’s scheduled for a live interview this Friday, May 23rd, on Mwago FM’s “Tukarimie” show, hosted by MC Duntosh. But here’s the twist: he’s now crowdfunding just KSh 2,000 to make the trip to Nairobi.
Dayo Kim

Just days ago, fellow artist Dayo Kim vowed publicly to support Cherulo after Vickie Meru Girl allegedly turned down a collabo. Dayo even called Cherulo a hardworking talent she wanted to uplift. But now, with this opportunity in hand, Cherulo is on TikTok pleading for fare while the promised support is nowhere in sight.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Dayo had claimed she wanted to help Cherulo and another artist (Vickie), but was left disheartened when Vickie allegedly questioned her relevance. Dayo turned her focus to Cherulo, promising to support him instead.

Now, as Cherulo begs the public for just 2K to attend the very interview that could change his career, fans can’t help but notice the irony—and feel the sting.

Cherulo isn’t just a content creator—he’s one of the few young artists from Igembe grinding hard with music and dance content. His recognition as Artist of the Week on Mwago FM is proof that the industry sees him. But without help, that mic might go silent before he even gets the chance to speak.
